Following 2018’s highly acclaimed collaboration album with Russia’s PHURPA, Frederic Arbour presents a new full length album under his VISIONS moniker. We are now presented with more grounded and melody based pieces that on his previous releases, which were more out worldly and exploring sonic expanse. Using a stripped back approach and forging new sonic territories, “Temples” also serves as an hymn to lost civilisations, and a gratitude for what can still be found and discovered from our predecessors. As societies fall, most of their temples and shrines seem to remain, perhaps, as a reflection of the materiality of spirit.
Edition of 500 copies on 4 panel Digisleeve. Matt Lamination. 7 Tracks. Running Time 45:48
The shadows of the old city creep upon you as you delve deeper and deeper into its depths. What horrors to see, what marvels to behold? Codex grasps your throat and pulls you further down into this twisted travesty of reality. At no point it looses tension, keeping you on your toes with sounds from another dimension. Is this real? Or is it the sick dream of an ancient god? Whatever it is, an ambient highlight it is for sure, a powerful statement and a new benchmark for the genre. Rindenberg
Another good addition to the Lovecraft Cryo Chamber Collection, Shub-Niggurath is a deceptively simple album, with lots of subtle audio details that contribute to the dread and mystery of the atmosphere. Headphones are definitely recommended here. Peter Rabbit
I slept on this album for far too long! After finally downloading it, I quickly realized what a beast of a recording it is. The album cover perfectly sets the scene for this Eastern infused dark ambient recording, which is becoming one of my favorite Cryo Chamber collaboration releases! I highly recommend this one!!
